We rented two jet skis at Chelan. Lauren and I started out, each with a kid, then I swapped with Cindy. Mason got to ride with all three of us. He said he liked me best because I was a little bit crazy and a little bit not. Cindy was NOT AT ALL crazy. And Lauren was crazy ALL THE TIME. He also said, "I regretted it when I told Lauren that she was too crazy because then she just did a really sharp corner on me." I have a picture that's fuzzy (i.e., doesn't meet blogging standards) of their ski fully on one side. I kinda wished I had ridden with Lauren.

Fishing in Chelan

We rented a cabin on Lake Chelan and spent several days hanging out, doing a whole lot of nothing. The first day the went swimming (into the 61 degree lake) but for some reason didn't do much swimming after that. Fishing from the dock was perfect though, if you like bottom feeders (suckerfish). The water was transparent and you could see the (spawning) fish just hang out in the shallow water.

This unfortunate soul decided to swallow the hook entirely, requiring immediate surgery. The surgery was extreme, but Kenzie loved him nonetheless. (Especially since she got to carry his air bladder around for a while, after she got done with his head.)

There's a new sheriff in town. Or wait, no there's not. Cats still rule.

Kenzie LOVES this dog. She takes very good care of him - we have been so surprised at how well she has done with the day to day Bentley care.

He still thinks he's a lap dog. We are told that he's half Poodle, so small dog... time will tell!

Did I mention how much she loves this dog?

Mason loves him too. Sometimes a little TOO much.

Bentley for my birthday

Today my team surprised me for my birthday with a puppy! They had been conspiring with Cindy and picked out this three month Aussie-poo. The team listed potential names on the white board and the kids picked "Bentley" from the list. He's very sweet and has quickly earned his way into our hearts.

She's nine!

MacKenzie turned nine years old today! We had a crazy-packed weekend in celebration. On Friday night she had a few of her friends over for a campfire and a movie, and two of them spent the night. Saturday her friend Emilie came over and then spent the night. And today after church Emily, Hanna and Julianna came over for most of the day. Mid-afternoon we were joined by our families, including two more kids David and Daniel. The kids played outside the entire day - street hockey, basketball, scooters, bikes, baseball, even an "accidental" trip in the creek that forced the girls to change clothes, again.
