Day one - travel

We are in Costa Rica!

We got separated in the security line because one of us hasn't done the paperwork to get precheck (ahem Cindy). Boys and I cruised through and sat for a half hour while Cindy and Kenzie zig zagged.

We left our house at 3am and arrived in San Jose at 4pm. Our guides Jackie and Fernando met us at the airport, drove us back to our hotel, and oriented us to what's ahead! We are excited!

They brought the bus because they said we might have more luggage. We are light travelers but were amused at the bus for five.

Mason's in the shadows not so amused.

Lost

Both Kenzie and I have lost any early-lead height advantage we may have had to Josh. His genetics made it inevitable and at least now it's decisive.

New do

Lines. Alas.

Camp buds

Kenz has a group of camp friends now that she has known for several years. They stay in touch throughout the year. This has become a really special group for her.

Missing one

Cindy was visiting her brother Kevin in South Carolina as he battles cancer. Kids missed her and were very sweet for me (at times!).

Pokemaniac

Mason is crazed with PokemonGo. He walks as far as we let him and makes new friends every step of the way.

Favorite food and cousins

David and Daniel came to each boys game this weekend. And we went to Ethiopian food. I mean, come on, does it get any better?

Ermi got a hat trick

Ermi scored three goals in one game!

Starfire tourney

Both boys played in the Starfire tournament this weekend. Mason's team went to the finals, losing 2-1. He played defense and didn't sit out even a minute the whole tournament.

Fourth at the beach

Family photo

I don't have time to post the 57 different pictures that proceeded this one, but it is humorous to look at how much effort it takes to get us all still. We finally gave up on the dog.

Just a couple of the out-takes...

21

Legitimately 21 now we were able to go out with Felix a few times. Sorry kiddos.

Fireworks at Beckett Point

Whale!

Well on our little red rocket boat today, Felix, Mason, Ermi and I saw a whale! We aren't sure if it was a humpback or gray whale but it was about 30' from our boat!

Captain Mason

Boats are tiring

Brain sharpeners

Grammy showed us how she keeps her brain sharp...ear pinching squats. And then threatened me if I posted the pictures.

Crab season is open!

Felix is back!

Let the wrestling begin...

Somebody is happy to have his big brother back

Our first PRIDE

REI was in the Pride parade so Kenzie and I marched. It was a gorgeous day. Half a million people.

Just watching the soccer game
