FC Barcelona
We were fortunate to make the first home game of the season for FC Barcelona! The boys loved every moment of it, but probably most of all getting to see Messi in real life.
Collioure
A week ago there was a terrorist attack in Barcelona. It was tragic and 13 people died. There were extra police checkpoints throughout the country as they did an extended manhunt for the driver of the vehicle. He was eventually shot and killed, but the country was turned upside down. We were stopped many times. What otherwise would have been a one hour trip to France became 4-1/2. Nobody complained...just got some extra zzzs.

But once we got there....ah....we love that place. So beautiful!!

Blanes
We found an AirBnb house in Blanes, about an hour north of Barcelona. Cindy and I drove back to the airport that evening and got BORJA!
Lots of pool shenanigans followed.
Our friend Sandy's daughter Kaia and her husband Chris were nearby so they stopped by!

Spainward bound
We have been planning the trip to Spain for 10 months. It was our Christmas present to the kids and was a two-family trip across the country. We got screaming deals on airline tickets and planned to go with Whitney, Saul and their kids. We got loaded up but when when we saw them they were in tears. One of the passports didn't have a full 90 days before expiration and since our layover was in Germany, who requires a full 90 days, they couldn't go. We took off believing they would be quickly behind us, but the change fees were thousands of dollars and they couldn't make it work. So, we were sad, and the trip became something different than what we planned. However, we were very happy to have David and Daniel with us (and Grammy of course). So, off we went!
A new country
I'm setting up camp in Canada by getting an apartment up there. It feels strange, but I'm up there so much that it'll be better than living out of a hotel. I think. At least it has a rooftop pool that the kids can swim in...if we ever coordinate to get a weekend up here!
In the meantime I get this...
