Work trip

My seaplane flight was cancelled, so I had to drive up to Vancouver. With very little time to prepare, Cindy, Mason and Felix decided to join, and we were on the road. It was a great mini-vacation (for me, mostly work but so fun to have them there in the evenings).

Lauren took Kenzie to the Pride parade. They hopped the fence and joined the parade.

Sweet 16 party

Kenzie's birthday was a great evening. We decided to let her celebrate in a big way - especially because she is ending her high school journey, and her friend dynamics will certainly change. This was an amazing evening celebrating our amazing girl.

For her birthday Kenzie wanted to get her nose pierced. She convinced me to get mine done too. Mine lasted three weeks, but then I decided it wasn't for me. But we did get a cute picture on Kenzie's Snapchat.

Felix has been planning a surprise visit to us - and we managed to keep it a secret until Cindy picked him up at the airport.

Mason was at soccer and here is the moment Mason discovered it was Felix.

Happy birthday sweet girl

We never saw ourselves as the parents who would give our kid a brand new car on their 16th birthday, but....

Kenzie is enrolled in college, will help drive the boys to all their soccer practices, and is planning to get a job. So....there you have it. This is one of the safest cars on the road and it give us peace of mind, and she's just a great kid! So, yes, we caved!

Almost legal

With one day until she turns 16, Kenzie passed her drivers exam. At midnight she can print her license and drive legally!

Kenzie and her guys

Kenzie has such a nice group of friends -- three guys, three girls -- all of whom are great kids and hang out interchangeably. Her tag line on this post was something like "do neither of these guys know how to smile?" But they did dress up to volunteer to give up a Friday evening for her mom's charity event!

Big kid

Kenzie volunteers every week in Ms. Terry's class. She was Ermias' kindergarten teacher. We went to the class concert this week to support the kids, who clearly love Ms. Kenzie.

Everett CC Hall of Fame

Grampy got inducted into the Everett Community Center Hall of Fame last night. Grammy, Randy, plus several of my cousins attended along with Mason and me. Randy accepted on behalf of the family.
