Grandparent dinners
Marissa turned 21! We went to dinner in Puyallup. We were sitting at a booth and Bob was stuck in next to the wall. He climbed out…under the table…and I have never seen such a look of surprise on MacKenzie’s face. It shocked the living daylights out of her to see her grandfather climbing on the Red Robin floor.
We also tried out a new restaurant in Covington with Grammy and Grampy. Once they found it we had a yummy meal!

lunch
Mason had his five year appointment, which included 3 shots. He is above 50% but below 75% in both height and weight. After the appointment, he and Cindy picked me up at work, and we ate lunch on the water.
so true
I’ve seen this pillow at my mom and dad’s house for years. Never paid much attention until yesterday. Kenzie spent the last four days at their house, and this was on “her bed” as I gathered her stuff. As they have stated many times, “they just don’t cross her.” She lives the life of luxury with two adults at her service.
Meanwhile, Mason yearns for his sister’s attention. He can’t stand her being away. He demanded this morning, “bring my sister back RIGHT NOW.” He constantly talks about her. I should say, he constantly talks. Nonstop. We love chatting with him, but come on, when does the boy go up for air?
So, yesterday we picked Kenzie up from her Grammy and Grampy’s. She wouldn’t give him the time of day, let alone a hug. He just wants her attention. The last two days have been a rough adjustment back to reality for all of us.

craft night
It’s true. We had a craft night.
Kenzie and Mason worked on their Valentine Day’s cards, while the rest of us (including Grammy who was around for reading the directions and providing inspiration and supervision) worked on the quilt square for Mason’s school auction. Here’s proof that I own a sewing machine. And further proof that we did it! Mason drew the pumpkin and we transformed it. Voila!
Here’s a close-up of one of Kenzie’s VD cards. It says, “Allie is so nice. She is sweet like a flower.” Each one is personalized.

Tooth Fairy: No Show
Kenzie came into my room this morning and said, “Mom, the Tooth Fairy didn’t come!”
Gasp!! Think, think!!
I said, “Oh honey, that must have been my fault. I went in to check to see if you still had your lights on. Probably about midnight.”
She nodded, “yah, that’s what time she comes.” She shrugged her shoulders.
With every ounce of sincerity I said, “I’m sorry, honey, maybe she’ll come tonight.”
She didn’t seem too upset, but evidently was still thinking. She said, “It must have been the cat. I heard a meow…then a flutter of wings.”
Okay, if you want to give blame to the cat, I’m fine with that. It seemed the conversation was over. Ten minutes later she returned to tell me that she had completely turned around in bed in the middle of the night. She was convinced. “Mom, I was so restless, I’m sure I scared her. She didn’t even look at my note.”
Note to Tooth Fairy tonight: tooth, money, note. Get it right.

Balanced
They are popping out like popcorn now. Kenzie lost tooth number four today. She told Cindy that somebody at school told her there is no Tooth Fairy. Cindy told her she could believe whatever she wants. We’ll see what she says when it’s bedtime and she’s thinking she’s just about two dollars richer (same rule applies as with Santa…no presents if you don’t believe). I think she is honestly trying to figure it out. I told her that I heard somewhere that the Tooth Fairy never visits the same house twice in one week, that she is a big believer in planning and doesn’t support kids that make her return to a place she just was. That was evidently over the line and she absolutely could not believe that one.
