Swimming

As we are staying in Annapolis, MD right on the water, we knew it was only a matter of time before one or more of the kids ended up being thrown in. It took less than 24 hours, and Felix had Mason, Ruby and Sarita in the water. Sarita put up a good fight, much to the amusement of the responsible adults watching from afar.

First was Ruby.

Then Mason.

Then Sarita...but she didn't go down easy.

Then the final dunk.

Delayed start

Our plane was scheduled to arrive at Washington National but the landing gear had a failure so we got redirected to Dulles. The emergency squad greeted us "just in case." Alaska doesn't normally fly to Dulles so they didn't roll out the red carpet. Two hours and counting...

70s revisited

Some friends bought a 1970's house, so they threw a party to celebrate the era. Cindy, Felix and I got groovy with it.

Soccer dudes

It's weird to look at them at this age and realize that in 7-8 years they'll be high schoolers.

All-season soccer

Undercover baseball

Baseball season has begun, but the rain has not stopped.

Technical difficulties

Kenzie sang "There is a God" at our retreat this weekend. The sound system had some difficulties, but she proved she is a pro! She kept going and held her composure even as the music gave out on her.

Man-to-dog defense

As the seasons change...

It's hard to believe that it's baseball season. Mason had his first practice today. Coach Mike, who has coached him for the last two years, is now assistant coach. The head coach, Jeff, "is a little tougher," Mason says, but he likes him. Cindy says that when they don't listen they run, but he's still super nice, it's just that the bar is getting raised a bit.

Mason recently informed Cindy that he'll play basketball and baseball, but for his college sport he'd like it to be baseball. It's good that she has time to warm up to the idea.

Basketball done!

The basketball season is complete! Both Kenzie and Mason loved it this year! We are so happy that Kenzie took a chance to play. She still says soccer is her favorite sport, but we can tell by the smile on her face as she plays that she truly enjoys basketball too.

Pal

Every kid in Kenzie's class has to take Pal, a Koosh Ball, home for a weekend. Pal goes everywhere the student goes, then they write a journal entry about it.
