Tooth drama
Mason was already in bed when he lost his last tooth. Still trying to smoke out the truth about the tooth fairy, he ran into the bathroom for tissue (where Lauren also was). He didn't tell his parents or his sister, just snuck the tooth under his pillow as one final test.
The Tooth Fairy delivered. She again rolled up crisp bills like a toothpick.
Two days later he's still talking about it. He took all his money out and analyzed the bills from the Tooth Fairy. He realizes that she delivers very new bills. I asked where she gets her money. He suggested maybe she sells the teeth. I asked "who would buy teeth?"
The conversation ended. Minutes later he said, "She robs money. She's a robber. At least she gives it to kids." He was rather distraught, then tried to justify it. "But she gives some kids more than others. That one time she gave me five bucks. Maybe she's rewarding me for being a good boy and waiting for her."

Keeping busy
Mason is in three sports right now...basketball, soccer and baseball (training). I guess this is where I have to break it to Grampy that he wants to pitch.
Plus he has conditioning one day a week. I literally can't keep up...every night he's gone somewhere or another. Kenzie has conditioning, choir and Spanish, and starts track in the Spring. Ermi, in addition to basketball, is starting soccer this week and we are looking to put him in swimming. Cindy is the main taxi driver and master scheduler. I do my part by keeping the weekends booked.

She showed
She rolled up a $5 bill into a thin tube. He said she probably does that so she can wrap her little hand around it

Lost tooth
The Tooth Fairy missed our house one night. Evidently she was scared of the 3' tall Spider-Man guarding his door. It scares the dog, so it's not surprising it also scares a very small fairy. But, it's been several nights and she hasn't reappeared. Plus, Mason misplaced the tooth in the meantime. So tonight he moved Spidey to the shower and he wrote this note. I emailed it to her...while he watched. (That worked for Santa several years ago when we needed him to swing by our house on his way back to the North Pole.)

Practice, alas!
Thankfully we made it to basketball practice today. He asked no less than four dozen times "Ermias basketball today?" All morning. Then when we drove past the community center to go pick up one of masons friends, he was very worried. Last weeks scheduling mishap was still fresh. Finally we made it to practice with about 10 minutes to spare. He was not happy during those 10 minutes, worrying the entire time that nobody else is going to show up. They did. He loved it. Language is still a barrier with him and the coaches, but he generally watches the kids and keeps up pretty well. The coaches were teaching the kids how to bounce pass and step I to the pass. He missed the point of it, but did learn that he was supposed to lift his leg, which he then did every time he caught the ball!
He still jumps in joy every time he makes a basket.

Boys night
Last week Kenzie had a sleepover with her girlfriends, so tonight is Mason's turn. It's only an hour into it and I already have my favorite quotes of the night.
Miles: "I even have a special fart for this."
Cindy: "You're right. Boys are louder than girls."
