Girl time

Dangerously close to teenagers. A friend had a 12th birthday party and the girls went into Seattle, ride the Wheel, and went out to dinner.

Dunk

I find it ironic that his shirt says "dunk" when he's still needs a couple more inches. But, somehow Cindy got yet another basketball player.

Note from teacher

Got a sweet note from Mrs. Terry...

Hi! I just wanted to send a quick e-mail to say how impressed I am with Ermias. He has grown so much since he first joined my class, and I am very proud of him! I was blown away today when I instructed the class to write their names on a paper and he did it without any help. He said that his mom had taught him :) Thank you for being so actively involved in your children's lives. It is so clear that you both love them all very much! (Mason has popped by a few times to check on his brother— he is so caring!)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hat trick

Mason was a guest player again last week for the C team. He scored a hat trick of three goals, helping them win 5-0.

First goal

Ermi finally had his first soccer game today! Within about three minutes the score was 2-0 with him scoring both goals. He was so silly, so excited--this is possibly the day he's been waiting for since November.

Tale of two cities

While I joined Kenzie in San Fran to meet  Janel and Ryan, Cindy and the boys went to the Spring Fair in Puyallup with Randy, Sary-Jo and their boys.

We went to the Oakland Zoo.

While they did the Puyallup!

Ermias went on his first rides, a bumper car and then a roller coaster house of horror. He was crying when they went in but all smiles when they came out.

San Fransisco!!

Yesterday night I got on a plane to go to Janel and Ryan's. They got me a delicious strawberry milkshake from In'n'Out, and when we got to the house we all went quickly to sleep, tired. The next morning we all got up, dropped Ryan off at work, and went to Janels school. The staff are very welcoming and soon I was in other classrooms painting art and learning math. We went I a Mexican restaurant right across the street for luch and savored our tacos and soup. I can't wait for tomorrow! almost finished painting

Spring break

We planned to take a quick trip to Eastern Washington for spring break, but our good friend who was going with us ended up in the hospital. Then Mason came down with the flu for three days. Meanwhile one of us had to go to work every day.

But halfway through the week things got better. Our friend is on the mend, Mason recovered, and Kenzie got on a plane to San Francisco to see Janel and Ryan!

She is one happy girl and if she ever wants to do this again I suspect that she will start blogging soon.

Besides the usual soccer, Cindy and the boys decided to try bowling.
