Tolo

Kenzie has a nice group of friends and 19 of them went to tolo together. They paired up, but many went as groups of friends. Kenzie and her friend Gabe were "blue." The overall theme was the 80s. They had a fun night and after the dance they entire lot of them walked to our house for the "after party." Another friend had planned to host it, but that fell through last minute, so Cindy and I had another party booked at the same time.

As the time got closer for the teenagers to arrive, we realized that we couldn't let the April 1st day go without notice. I started by texting all my police friends and nearly had a drug bust scheduled. We were going to put a baggie of flour in Mason's pocket (with him in on the joke) and have them rush the upstairs full of the teenagers. When that didn't quite work out, we did the old "toothpaste in the oreo trick,"

But when half of them showed up soaking wet from the rain, I felt sorry for them and pulled the tainted cookies.

Most disappointing, all the adults and kids had hand-crafted hats out of foil and were all set to act surprised when the teenagers asked what they were for. We were going to, of course, reply that we were listening to the voices in the lights. But they never even noticed!!! We forgot that we were trying to get the attention of self-absorbed teenagers....but I still think this was hard to miss. Kenzie told me "mom, they just don't care. My friends aren't like that." Pfft.

Back at the farm

Kenzie got her job back at Fox Hollow farm. They are having an Easter egg hunt for several weekends.

Cantor

Ed and Mason are still doing weekly horseback riding lessons. Cindy and I got to go watch for the first time. What a special ritual they have going on between the two of them.

Laser tag

Basketball season is over, but at least there was a game of Laser Tag!

Old timer - IGNITE event

I spoke at a charity event for girls in STEM at the Living Computer Museum and found my first love, the TRS-80!

Here is my speech: https://youtu.be/mKSlNs3AYWg

They also had a self-driving car. Mason, Kenzie, Devan and Grammy all loved it. A random lady told me that my mom had gone on four trips that she knew of.

Nathan and Ermi

These two have been basketball and school buds since kindergarten. They are adorable together.

They love each other

We have to capture these moments when they happen.

Poet

Mason once again proved both his writing skills and sense of humor.

Big 1-0

Ermias turned double digits and we had an extended celebration, starting with Red Robin for the family and a few friends, and finishing with a bang (literally) with 18 kids at the bowling alley. He is very well loved and was appropriately celebrated.
