Dress up
Kenzie and Mason went to a 16th birthday party with Gabs, Will and their friend Tom. They all cleaned up pretty well!
Vegas
On the way to Arizona we spent a couple of cold days in Las Vegas. Mason saw Lamar Odom in the restaurant and took a selfie...
And we ran into the Ethiopian chef Marcus Samuelson. He was very nice to let Ermias have a quick picture.

Only Mason
Mason slammed his locker open today, bent down to get his books, then stood up as the locker door was ricocheting closed, knocking himself in the head. His friends started laughing, until they saw the blood. Wil texted his mom "Mom, Mason cracked his head open and blood is gushing out. This is really serious Mom." According to another parent Wil practically carried Mason to the office, where they called the paramedics. That's the story saw on a text that caused me to rush out of a day-long meeting. However, they called Cindy and she showed up and took him to urgent care, where they gave him three staples in his head. The best part is that she took him back to school - he was only out for about 1-1/2 hours total. Wil saw him and just said "you're a Dumb Dumb."

Uncle Kevin
Cindy's big brother Kevin lost his battle with cancer this past week. It's a sad time for all, but we are grateful he is out of pain.
Kevin Eugene Bolam, born January 3, 1963, in Hazelhurst Mississippi, passed away on April 16, 2018, at the young age of 55. Kevin bravely fought cancer for three years with optimism and positivity, beating all odds that were given to him, and is now at peace and out of pain. His will to live and the love for his family was constant and uncompromised.
Kevin grew up in the Pacific Northwest, graduating from Federal Way High School in 1981. An avid bowler and a leisure golfer, Kevin loved to mix friends, family and sports. In 1998 he joined the Boeing Company as an engineer, and in 2010 he moved with them to South Carolina, where he loved the hot weather. But, even though he moved to South Carolina, he never gave up his loyalty to the Seahawks or the Mariners. He retired this last January after nearly 20 years with The Boeing Company. Kevin enjoyed camping anywhere, but especially Myrtle Beach with Kathy and their dogs Rocky and Issy, where he could soak up the sun and enjoy the passing of time together in their fifth wheel. He was a gentle, kind, loyal father, husband, son, brother and friend. His quiet presence is deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the love of those whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Bolam; his parents, Robert and June Bolam; his children Darin Bolam, Marissa Brehm/son-in-law Shane Brehm and step-daughter Morgan Ferrance; his two sisters Cindy Bolam/sister-in-law Julie Averill, Kristina Bolam; and one grandchild Isaac Brehm.

Hamilton!!
The three girls scored some Hamilton tickets. What an amazing show!! We all thoroughly enjoyed it.
Vegas
Before the tournament in Arizona we flew into Las Vegas, met up with the G-G family, and then grabbed Lauren for the drive to Arizona. Las Vegas was having an unusually cold period, so we didn't dress quite right. But we had a couple of star encounters - Mason with Lamar Odam and Ermias with Marcus Samuelsson.
Arizona
Mason's team had a tournament in Arizona and they didn't have enough kids to plays, so we picked up Wil. It was really fun to have him back on the field with Mason. This also gave Mason the chance to play part-time in the field. They made it to the finals and came in second place.
Aidan's family was unable to accompany him, so he stayed with us. We had four boys. We stayed at a hotel that had free cruiser bikes. We didn't have enough time to fully enjoy it, but we did have a couple of break-aways. It was a fun weekend.
