Irresponsible parking

Felix borrowed my car to go to a movie with some friends. Cindy, Mason and I waited until the movie started, then moved the car, turned the radio to a country station, and pulled the seat all the way forward. You can see the picture, clearly there wasn't enough to park! I parked it across the lot, but Cindy felt guilty and made me move it closer. On queue, as soon as the movie got out, my phone rang. Felix said "why you move the car? I know 100% you move the car."

I told him the next day that he can't borrow the car anymore if he can't keep track of it!

What's the fun having a teenager of you can't relive the pranks?

Water babies

All of the sudden, both our kids are like fish! They are super comfortable in the water and love to swim. Couldn't have a better day for it!

Vashon

Summer has finally hit, so we started the weekend early and took the ferry to Vashon Island. We found a couple of parks, had a nice dinner, then took the boat back home.

Independence Day

Our day started at the Issaquah parade. We, including Bentley, walked to the town and found friends, hung out in the mass of people, played some games, and then went up to Gabe and Tajs for a very fun, sun-filled afternoon in the pool.

Mason finally turned the corner on swimming. He has been able to swim for a while but has been lacking confidence. Today, he just swam without thinking about it! We have been waiting for this day.

Wedding readying

Marissa and Shane are getting married at our house next month! Mason is the ring bearer and got fitted for his tux.

About every third day that I come home a new tree is fallen in our yard. Bob, Cindy, Ed and AJ have taken down all our sick trees, and then the final stump grinder arrived.

We now have grass and saw dust, or as Felix likes to see it, a clear soccer field.

A shade of attitude

San Fran!

Kenzie is leaving for her first trip on an airplane without us! She is going to see Janel and Ryan in San Francisco. She is so excited she can barely stand it. The airport was insanely busy this morning with all the summer travelers, but when we got to the gate they were waiting for her and whisked her away. Have fun Kenzaroonie!

Sister's leaving

Mason drew a picture of Kenzie leaving. I thought Felix had drawn it because it's the style he draws, but it was all Mason. The V's are sea gulls.

Football, check

Can I consider his football career complete? He has the certificate.

Party time

We had an early going-away/birthday party for Felix.

It was a multi-generational party, with kids, teenagers and adults--about 60 people in total. Somehow I turned into the older generation...not sure how that happened. But we had a great turnout. Even the sun showed up last minute and let us play some soccer outside at 8, and enjoy a bonfire.
