I judged a case competition at UW yesterday. I took Mason out of school so we could head straight to Port Townsend after. 

End-of-Season Soccer Parties

Ermias' team had a great spring season and even though they don't really keep score his team seemed to have a winning season. Dark Shadow celebrated by eating cupcakes. 

Mason's team had a solid season. His coach for the past few years, Michael, had to go back home so he had a new coach Erin, for the last half. His team celebrated their season with a swimming party and lunch at Issaquah Brew House.

Kenzie's team had a great second half of the season and decided to celebrated by having a pot luck/BBQ at Central Park followed by Bubble ball. Thanks Coach Brian!

Our first shrimping adventure--we caught 338. Not the full limit but enough to fill our bellies!

Package for Abriham

We sponsor an Ethiopian boy named Abriham. He is seven years old and lives with his parents. They are currently unemployed so we try and help as much as we can. A group of volunteers are heading back again to deliver care packages to kids who we sponsor along with others. Kenzie, Mason and Ermias each wrote him a little note to go in the package. Along with the letter we sent 3 t-shirts, crayons, a small pad, 2 books and 3 cars all in a gallon bag. They wanted us to use a quart size bag but we pleaded along with a little extra money for shipping to up the size to a gallon. 

Big Mariners Night for Mason!

Mason joined the choir last year because he thought they were going to get to perform at a Mariners game. Well, it didn't happen last year. So he joined again this year along with about 50 other students in hopes that the Mariners staff would pick them to sing. They got picked! On May 10th, 2016, Mason got to get out of school early, take a big bus to the stadium to rehearse, eat downtown with Mommy and Wil then perform for the crowd of about 16,000 fans. About 400 represented Clark Elementary. They did great! Video will be added soon.

Way to Go, Kenzie!

Congratulations to MacKenzie for being in the National Honor Society two years in a row. She held a GPA of 3.7 and put in a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer work. Some of her volunteer work was done with mommy's work and some done at Mrs. Weller's first grade class. Her volunteer work in the classroom was done before school on Wednesday mornings. Great job Kenzie!

Mother's Day!

We had a wonderful time in Port Townsend over Mother's Day weekend. Grammy and Lauren joined us and we spent some time kayaking then had dinner at a local pub that was televising the Sounders game. Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary joined us on Sunday and we made the most of a beautiful day clamming, talking and just hanging out.

Our church decided to let the kids (Oops...I mean the young adults) run most of the service one Sunday. Our youth pastor did the other part. Kenzie's role was to sing in the choir and give a few announcements. Mason and Ermias took part in helping with communion. Ermias' other duty was to pass out some needed pens. 

Recreational Soccer

Coach Vlad has worked with Ermias and several of these boys for the past few years. Both fall and spring leagues as well as indoor soccer. This has been good for Ermias but now it's time to move on to be a Gunner!
